We have years of experience caring for families, from all walks of life. Each family comes to us because they know we are leaders in our profession, dedicated to excellence in service, and have the highest integrity.
This funeral business started out as a one-room building on South Main Street in Henderson, Kentucky in the mid-1800's. Originally owned by Tebo and Jacob Schaeffer, the business was sold to William Klee in 1870, who partnered with Harry Morton. When Klee passed away, Luke Tapp joined Morton and they renamed the business Klee-Morton-Tapp.
In 1926, sheriff Otis Benton bought the business at the courthouse doors and renamed it Otis Benton & Son. In 1962, Maynard Glunt purchased the business and moved it to its current location on Green Street into the building that was formerly Browning Oil Services and, prior to that, the Glass House Restaurant.
Mr. Glunt later purchased Paul B. Moss Funeral Residence in 1978 and Tapp Funeral Home in 1986. He owned the businesses until 1992 when he sold them to Prime Succession, Inc., in Erlanger, KY.
Benton-Glunt Funeral Home returned to local family ownership in January, 2004 when it was purchased by James and Judy Veccia. Maynard and Gene Glunt by agreement shared ownership until their deaths. This purchase included the Tapp Funeral Home and Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
